I’m so excited to share this little (ok, maybe not so little) project that I’ve been working on this last week. I’ve really been lamenting all of the fun, Christmas themed, games and centers I usually use with my students this time of year. Like, REALLY getting down about it. Maybe it’s the fatigue of being fully remote for almost 9 months, now, but the loss of the Christmas games has hit me harder than I anticipated it would. From lemons, however, comes lemonade and I’m happy to share this collection of virtual Christmas music centers / games that you can use with your students for online lessons, remote classes, or as independent assignments! I’ve been using these via zoom screen share with my students and it’s been exactly the little bit of novelty that we’ve needed to get through to the winter break. Today I dropped off a care package, on the porch, for one of my students. Yesterday marked her 6th (how has it been 6 weeks already?!) lesson since we transitioned to online learning and it was a rough one. I feel like, maybe, the novelty is starting to wear thin. Kiddos are starting to feel some burnout from so much screen based learning, staying inside all day, and missing the person-to-person connection with their friends, teachers, and extended family. I hope these #earthday themed color by note name worksheets are able to brighten her day a bit, and give her a little #tbt to when we used to do coloring activities together. Hopefully we'll all be coloring together again soon!

I've created some Easter themed, digital magnetic music staff mats, with Google Slides to use as both a teacher's tool during video lessons - via screen share - or as a collaborative activity between teacher and student - using Google Slides - ⁠

I had to give it a week to see if the kiddos would even like this crazy idea that came to me during Thanksgiving break; but, I think it's safe to say that this one is an absolute hit! These tiny little #christmastrees came from my local #dollartree, and all of the trimmings are now available in my #tpt shop! I also made an easy print-and-go Christmas tree option for those days that I'm not feeling all of the set-up / break down. It's been a busy November! I'm absolutely loving winding things down in the lead-up to #thanksgiving break with these Build-a-Turkey #craftivities for my students. I've made variations for all of the #majorscales for #bassclef and #trebleclef as well as for some of the common 5-finger positions (so my younger students can join in on the fun). Getting ready for a game of "Eye-Ball" this afternoon, and I have a feeling things might get a little crazy! I love this game for #halloween week, since it gives the kiddos a chance to flex some of their gross motor skills, while they practice reading note names. It's the ultimate answer to those Halloween wiggles!
